My Whole Crew

The whole family got out on a joyous Sunday evening ride, it was really nice out and good to be all together out on the trail, this one my wife loves, and it's really nice to have a trail that she enjoys, we should be able to get out more as the days come by, I look forward to it.

Happy medium

I still felt some rampage pumping thru my blood and aimed for South Mountain to get silly on National. The plan was Corona De Loma but I was feeling weak and did a Mormon to National loop and then added in some Desert Classic, the right amount of fun for sure.

Ramping Rampage

Friday I spent all morning watching Rampage, I'm a big fan, having made it to the venue twice it was hard not to be there this year but last year was really a dream come true, I had 4 days riding and freedom baby, it was missed but I still enjoyed it plenty on the TV. I realized I have not been back to those amazing trails in flagstaff and I am bummed, but I did a lot this year and it's not over yet maybe there is hope. After watching Rampage I wanted to rock some lines on my bike ride, not quite the same but went more tech on this loop.

Roll with it

Mood was off but legs were spinning, decent cruise around Usery, dreaming of Utah

Allergens

Theres a new shift in the ride schedule coming, my boy is going to go to a private Pre K, this will open up longer ride times by a little. Soon he won't need me much and that time is growing nearer, its bittersweet. My allergies have been very obnoxious the last few weeks, keep hoping they will disappear, this one was especially bad.

Another nice one

Very much enjoying these afternoon rides, the desert is finally cooling down and all is butter.

Fun with the little one

Been awhile and now with the temperatures where I like them and the boys broken arm healed, we went out to users. It was was great fun and I missed having him and now look forward to more, he was singing most the ride and happy as can be. The desert is absolutely stunning in the evening and it feels good to be out there with him

San Tan

The usual loops around San Tan, enjoying the sun coming down earlier, offering nice lighting and even some shade, the wind was blowing me around on this one, legs were mediocre but hanging in there. Hit my 50 miles and onwards to Saturday which turned out to be ride less. Hopefully for a kid trail a bike ride Sunday

Your still the one

Could;t help but spend this ride thinking about my bike, I have been running my mind all over the place with a new one, I have frame being made this winter but I will likely swap the parts from my current bike to it to avoid having to build from the frame up to save a lot of money. But again till I demo or know exactly what I want I am holing off, if just a manufacturer would make what I am looking for without being a frame only option..... I must have 5-6,000 miles on this bike and they have been good! Rampage is coming up, I am bummed to not be attending this year but I will watch on the tv knowing mighty well what its like in person. This ride was good and short as the school days are.

Faster the better

For some reason I find myself enjoying Usery more, I guess when you pedal real hard it can make those smooth easy trails more fun, maybe if I had a few more gears that would be nicer too but my one gear does just fine. It was a solid rip that could be longer but is long enough to get home in time for the bus with my little one.

Lovely Shred

Getting pretty frustrated with the weather as I am waiting for it to cool down but heck not much I can do about it. It was Hawes for this Monday ride, all was well with man and machine on the bike, just a lovely shred

Brown's mix n match

With a Seodna trip failed, I was disappointed but I really have done ALOT this year and feel very fortunate. I was headed for Brown's which is kinda my favorite place to ride, I had the idea to hot Whiskey Bottle, Diablo and Legends Trail North. I had to fill in the gaps in between which was a delight, so many trails here and still haven't picked a favorite loop cause so many are so so good! Wonderful morning in the desert, got goosebumps in some of the lower lying areas, felt good to feel the chill.

South Mountain Stroll

feeling lazy and flowy, Wednesday was an early morning at South Mountain. Pretty standard here, nothing too exciting to report, Friday was my birthday and was hoping to head to Sedona

Monday at San tan

Well a new week, can'y say its much different than any other, I had 3-4 spots to pick to ride and went over to San Tan for an sunset ride. As I began my way onto the trail I was feeling just fine, the sun going into it's late time in the day was quite welcomed, it wasn't cool or anything but just the glow of niceness. I rarely ride this time of day anymore and while I ride a lot and can't complain, this time of day is a favorite. It was just a speedy one loop lap of San Tan to use up my time wisely, I use to have 2 hr rides, now they're more 90 or less but I get the exercise to fun ratio in and that's fine. It was a nice ride round the mountains, such a nice setting and good day to be alive

Better

On saturday I was anxious for a ride, i hot the trail plenty early, found South Mountain quiet and relaxing as it began under my night riding light. My body was intact for the most part, I picked this easy ride since I was still coming off two weeks off the bike. It was a really nice pedal, the right mix of fun and work. I came across 4-5 coyotes on the side of the trail, they seemed pretty cozy with my stopping to watch them, kinda cool but kinda scary. One got pretty close as long as I remained still as he looked for breakfast. I found myself wanting more but had to return home for my wife to hit the gym for a class. Finally feeling better let's bring on next week, I got my birthday coming, I hope to sneak off to Sedona on Friday for a day of riding on Saturday let's see if I can make it work.

Sour Puss

Well I guess I have some inner demons I have been struggling with since we returned from out trip, I am back in the valley and being affected by it, I was told to go for a ride and that I did. With my body feeling like crap and ambition low I headed for Hawes. When I hit dirt I still felt about the same, just weak and low on energy. I had plans for two hours and trail variety but ended up keeping it simple and then headed home with a slightly better attitude. Ran into some wild horses, they were pretty comfortable in my presence.

Sun up

Well after a fantastic family vacation I found myself 11 days later back on dirt. I awoke crazy early with a messed up jet lag time zone change. I was groggy and grumpy but left the house for a cool AZ sun rise. It was very nice out, finally temperatures are shifting and I am soooooo happy about that as you could imagine. I hastily sped around Usery area, legs feeling ok and mind was in the gutter but I still found delight in the sun coming up.
