Last Hawes

Back to Hawes to close out the week before I drive to Utah. Still feeling strong I feel like even after 100 miles this week I would happily pedal more miles, this was a great ride and onwards to Utah where I am now wishing I brought my bike as they are snowless and I am bikeless.......

Hawes Strong

I have been feeling particularily strong this week despite a head cold, this day was the worst of lack of sleep and sore throat with sinus issues, still I was charging into a beauitful morning ambitious for 20 miles and did so with great success.

Mcdowell Pedal

Headed for mcdowell for an enjoyabe pedal around the place. I really enjoyed the time out there, I foget how nice it is on the return leg of this loop, very flowy and buff on the bluff and granite trail, loved it.

Usery loops

I am really enjoying the Horse trails, isolated, fast and flowy its my cup of tea. I put this loop together in my head and hoped for 20 miles and did so happily

Round Hawes

OK getting into 2019 here shortly, I see my mileage is close to 3500 for the year so I packed on some miles this week before my trip to Utah to maybe make 3500 by the end of the year. Weather permiting I would bring my bike to Utah. This was a good way to start a nice start to the week with a beautiful mellow ride around the mountain, it never gets old, such a great mix of trail.

So nice I loved it twice

Back for more of the Horse trails, did two laps of High horse and wild horse and dang it was good. There was no fridya ride since my kiddo was sick.

Gold Canyon Paradise

Very much enjoying Decemeber here in the desert, Gold Canyon was stuning as usual when it's not 120F and without rattlesnakes. Great ride

Triple H er HHH or HHHH

Well since I have been enjoying the heck out of Horse trails I have not sampled horse tale for way too long. Today was the day, the plan was to ride the three Horse trails now I call them Triple H Loop. It was a glorious ride into the desert with ambition and beauty around. I made rode my way over to the new horse tail trail. It started off good and mellow and then dipped in and out on narrow singletrack, some tricky singlespeed climbs but the trail was ridden and I enjoyed it very much East to West. It was easy breezy to the car and a very nice 20 miles in the desert on a Tuesday morning.

Funky Monkey

Out and about on a great monday, standard route nothing fancy

Beauty of Friday

With some overnight rain Friday was the day to go out and reap the reward. The forecast called for overcast but the sun was gloriously shining through beautiful stormy clouds creating quite the scene. Mixed up the loop and enjoyed a refreshing mix n match, closed out the week on a beauitful one for sure!

Moody Skies

Rain was in the valley Thursday, I was ready for it and luckily it never got me while I was out there, the moody weather was a nice sight, the riding was great and actually quite warm. I rode a standard loop, not very exciting but mission accomplished.

New Chainfruit trail

Just down the road Usery created the chainfruit trail, I have ridden the new trail next to it as well Lost Sheep, but wedndsday was the day to go test it out. Not expecting much I had a good rip up and down the mountain and over to the new trails, unsure of my loop entirely I went for Chainfruit, nothing more than expected other than cozy pretty trail. Then down Lost Sheep and then some filler miles and back to Chainfruit and up Lost Sheep and onwards to the vehichle happily.

Riding gloves

Temperatures took a dip and thoroughly enjoying wearing warmer clothing and still being so warm during a ride in the middle of winter in shorts and a long sleeve shirt. I don't ever wear gloves but I must say I have enjoyed wearing them last ride and this one. I rode a standard Hawes loop happily on a great morning.

Scorpion Trail

Here we are, into December and it's cruising fast! The weather has been fantastic, the riding quite good and all things. I saw a ew section of trail people were riding last weekend so I went out to see what it was like. I parke and had a loop in mind, it turned out it was quite good loop as I rode The NRA trails to High Horse which was soooo good riding in the other direction which was alot more fun. Then I returned on Wild Horse happily on a marvelous desert morning. I located the new Scorpion trail and off I went, it was a mild Downhill trail with some berms dips and turns, by the end of it I was hoping for a new return trail which is in the works I hear, I returned back up it and then passed my car to add up a 15 mile Monday morning jaunt. New trail was good for what they have to work with, high horse is where the $$$ is at in my opinion.

Week Ender

Very cool and cloudy after a bit of rain on friday, trail was dust free, body was just fine, I had multiple plans in my head for friday ride, it all crumbled when I got lazy and ended up just completing a happy loop and I felt fullfiled and headed home complete for the week.

Mine with a view

I finally talked myself into breaking away from the repetitive routes and headed up to Mine in Hawes. Nice views and change of trail for that little stretch, enjoyed it quite well.

Beauty and quiet

Headed for Gold Canyon for a great spin, took a little different approach on an older route I took, brought back some memories to where I was in my head at the time, mostly when I went Low Carb diet and bonked hard on a few rides, happy to be out pedaling and the trails all to my greedy self :)
