Rat A Tat Tat

Looking for something a bit different that didn't involve moring traffic. So I was went for Gold Canyon. An overcast moring was welcomed and I knew my days are numbered if not already over at Gold Canyon for the summer, the place is super snakey, while I don't fear sankes as bad as some, I do fear the uneccesary wallop of trouble one can put you in. So on this lovely morning it was not long before I ran into one unfortunately. After I caught it's tail part way across the trail I stoppe and cussed after my heart started beating. We then went into a standoff where I could not pass the snake as it stood rattiling just afew inches off the trail and with grasses maybe hiding another one possibly I didn't want to venture anywhere until it moved. So I spent 2 minutes trying to figure out what to do and then very very carefully walked thru the grass on the other side of the trail since this snake had every intention on staying it's ground. Not even 1/2 way thru the ride this was going to mess up the rest of the ride, even more so when I came across the second one as I rolled by he was not bothered at all for a photo and now I was two snakes and 1/2 way into the ride. Nervous about the second half of the ride my eyes and mind were peeled tightly to the trail. Happy to report snake crossings were done for the day and I won't likely be back to Gold Canyon until the fall or despiration.
